From way up here
Where the air is so clear
Can see for miles unless we're in the clouds and the sleet again
Well this is what we know
The wind the rain and snow
Keep all our machines nice and clean to run all our experiments
And day after night
We fight the weatherman's fight
4am shifts to dig us out of drifts reaching 10ft high
And on and on
Here at the weather station
Keep all our machines nice and clean to log all of those temperatures
And on and on
Men of the weather station
Logging the data to forecast the way that we've always done
From time to time
We question just quite why
Nobody knows that we're here all alone on this mountain high
Well here comes the storm
Hope we can just stay warm
Or this will be the last meteorological forecast we've ever done
Still day after night
We fight the weatherman's fight
To measure the data, the wind speed the rate of the gusts and all
And on and on
We're at the weather station
To measure the rainfall and if we are able, humidity
And on and on
This is our weatherman's song
And we'll run our station, forecast for the nation like we've always done

Superhero

High above the town
Is where the caped crusader glides
Got a mask over his face
And his pants on the outside
And he goes on, all alone
Fighting crime
Journalist by day
Urban guardian by night
Specs are his disguise
And he's scared of kryptonite
But he goes on, all alone
Fighting crime...
... Like superheroes do
Keep this city safe from danger, so our enemies are few
Watching over all, always willing, always ready for the call
Arachnid bit his hand
Turns out was radioactive
Now he's got spider sense
And can fire webs out of his wrists
And he goes on, all alone
Fighting crime
From a far off alien race
On the planet of Krypton
Emerging from the shadow
Of her more famous cousin
She goes on, all alone
Fighting crime...

Jumping in the water off the cliffs south of the harbour in the summertime
And chasing off the pigeons down the alleys behind kitchens in the town
And sometimes after school the kids that thought they're pretty cool would blag some cigs and wine
And everybody knows it, yeah it's here is where this s**t is, going down
Meetings in the park would go on way past after dark but nothing sinister
After lifting the odd freebie from the corner shop down New Street west of town
And riding bikes down big dipper out in the woods of ash and beech and silver birch
Cos everybody knows it, yeah it's here is where this s**t is going down
Everybody knows it, yeah everybody knows it
Everybody knows it, hell yeah everybody knows it
Everybody knows it, yeah it's here is where this s**t is going down
Cos everybody knows it, yeah it's here is where this s**t is going down
Yeah everybody knows it, yeah cos this is where this s**t is going down

Formed in a mist to the south and west of Manchester. Fermented in oak barrels in Cheshire. Stored for a long time and
brought out only when the need is great and the time is right.
That time is now.
Formed circa 2018 from a collection of old college and post-uni friends who like playing Americana kinda stuff.
